A Successful Collaboration: QualiCal and Durgapur Steel Plant Celebrate the Completion of the Groundbreaking Dolo Kiln Project

The collaboration has achieved a momentous milestone with the successful conclusion of the 1 x 300 TPD Synthesis 85 Dolo Kiln project.
Commissioned in January 2015, the Dolo Kiln swiftly became one of the fastest executed projects in SAIL’s history. After displaying outstanding performance, QualiCal fulfilled all contractual obligations, and the plant was handed over to DSP in August 2015.
As of July 2023, the project reached its successful conclusion with all administrative matters settled. However, its impact will be felt for years to come. This collaboration has set new benchmarks in innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in the steel industry. It stands as a testament to what can be achieved when expertise, vision, and commitment are combined.

Established in the late 1950s, DSP has carved a niche for itself as a leading producer of long steel products and as a trailblazer in manufacturing forged Railway Wheels & Axles in India. Through relentless modernization and expansion, DSP has progressively increased its production capacities, cementing its place as an industrial titan.
QualiCal’s Visionary Undertaking
In 2010, DSP, in its quest to further expand and innovate, entered into an alliance with QualiCal, a renowned name in innovation. This partnership was fueled by the shared ethos of progressive thinking and a commitment to excellence. QualiCal undertook the ambitious project of building the 1 x 300 TPD Synthesis 85 Dolo Kiln.
Embracing the “Make in India” initiative, QualiCal demonstrated its commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and industry by sourcing all major equipment from Indian vendors, significantly before it became a mainstream government initiative.
