QUALICAL FOR A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT — THINK GLOBALLY ACT LOCALLY
LIME PRODUCTION ON REQUEST (Servitization MODEL)
It might be a while before there’s a large scale “independent” #INTERNEToftheLIME.
In the meantime, however, the transformation of lime from a commodity to a service is already underway.
Lime production today can start with something as small as a small-scale mini reactor in small quarries. That said, the growth of medium-scale producers — lime producers who supply the network with a considerable amount of lime from distributed production networks during peak periods — is where the real growth and likely opportunity lies.
Small, medium or large, however, the service model is essentially the same: decentralized lime producers can now supply lime to the entire network/community.

Markets will gradually open up to both commercial companies and small private producers, and to groups whose own lime production is creating an excess that they themselves cannot use.
Changes in regulatory thinking and service model may encourage larger peak producers in the lime production markets. They usually link their own lime production sources or link conglomerates of small producers to feed the network when lime prices rise during peak seasons.
This market development is also made possible by the advent of creative IIoT digital solutions and the development of large-scale lime storage networks. These make it possible to supply lime warehouses in small (and off-peak) seasons and thus ensure reliable supply in periods of high demand.
