QualiCal Powering Excellence: 2 x 20tph QualiCUBE Lime Grinding Plants for JSW Steel Ltd Vijayanagar Plant

JSW Steel, the flagship business of the diversified US$ 22 billion JSW Group, has established itself as a leader in the steel manufacturing sector over the past three decades. From a single unit, JSW Steel has grown to become India’s leading integrated steel company, boasting a capacity of 28.5 MTPA in India and the USA, inclusive of capacities under joint control.

The company’s Vijayanagar plant in Karnataka stands as the largest single-location steel-producing facility in India, having a production capacity of 18 MTPA. JSW Steel’s commitment to business and sustainability practices has earned them widespread recognition.

Recently, QualiCal received an order for the Kiln 17, followed by 2 x 20tph QualiCUBE Lime Grinding Plants, as part of the Sinter Plant 5 expansion.

These plants will exclusively grind lime for supply to Sinter Plant 5.

In the realm of integrated steel plants, Lime Grinding Plants play a significant role. Lime Fines, a byproduct of these plants, are utilized in Sinter Plants. The sintering process is principally developed to use under-sized lump ore, called iron ore fines, which would otherwise not be directly chargeable in blast furnaces. This process aids in the conservation of these materials by compacting them into lumps via sintering.

QualiCal International Srl. has been the trusted supplier of QualiCUBE Modular Lime Grinding Plants to the JSW Steel Ltd Vijayanagar Plant since 2008. Our first commissioned 2 x 20tph QualiCUBE Lime Grinding Plant began operations in 2010. Impressed by the successful operation of the initial unit, JSW Steel Ltd awarded us with orders for an additional 2 x 20tph QualiCUBE units in 2010, and another 1 x 20tph QualiCUBE unit in 2013.
