Help demystify HYPE! It’s what everyone is talking about, but no one is thinking about.

Hype is a behavioral economics, psychological, cultural, artistic, and technological concept as proved by social phenomena such as Supreme, streetwear, Dogecoin [DOGE], Shiba Inu [SHIB], and moonshot startups or new cryptocurrency. We cannot simply ignore it as just being subjective or saying β€œwe’re not sure.” If academics cannot answer this question, then reddit is the place. By combining our knowledge and viewpoints we can collaborate to solve this equation or come close.

It’s fascinating that this new phenomenon of hype (as opposed to a general cultural appeal) has very little if any research or exposure. Our mission is to quantify hype as a behavioral economics, psychology, cryptocurrency, and fashion/streetwear paradigm.

The purpose of this medium page is to broadcast how hype is affecting new industries and methods of quantification specific to those sectors. For example, in the crypto trading world, the following revenue equation is considered a standard by which to construct other tokenomics analysis, data, and concepts like risk.

Traditional Crypto Equation β€” Loosely Modified

So how does hype factor into this equation? Unfortunately, even this specific case necessitates the inclusion of diverse fields like economics, psychology, fashion design, and sociology to obtain a complete picture of the issue. Therefore, collaboration is absolutely necessary to further this research project.

All of these are open communities to foster discussion so anyone may join as long as they are respectful and use relevant posts. Ask u/Own-Milk574 if you have any questions or would like to be a mod.

Bear in mind that our ultimate criterion is research and understanding so all substantiated viewpoints are welcome. You can also just speculate on the general forum. For the academic forum, please structure critiques in a productive manner. Honor us, by sharing your mindset and voice. Everyone has something constructive to add.

Preliminary data from our first survey shows that while there is a vast interest in hype as a discrete concept as well as hype relative to something (often a product or social media), there is little to no information to make it less subjective. Furthermore, our hypothesis that the two industries impacted the most by hype are cryptocurrency (especially smaller altcoins like $SHIB) and streetwear or fashion collabs. Hopefully, future data will reveal more definitive quantitative information. That being said, it is clear that hype is more pervasive than we thought (influencing cannabis, startup, and tech markets) and continues to become more ubiquitous over time and with sector growth. Give us your input for our next survey :)

Live discourse is crucial to mutual understanding and cooperation. Immerse yourself in live talks and debates on Telegram and Discord. No claim is invalid, but try to substantiate yourself either empirically or analytically, even if it’s just a super quick reference. Opinion and speculation are okay too, but just remember to try to think through your own core beliefs profoundly and be open to voices outside of your bubble.

On Reddit & social media you can find info on our Quant Hype (QHYPE) Polygon Network Research Token, which can be distributed for free to those who contribute to the community or fill out research surveys. See the links below:

[When it comes to the QHYPE Token, please do not purchase more than 2k tokens so everyone has a fair chance, given that there are only 100k total.]
