When looking at Go Ratings, the highest ranking player by Elo score is Shin Jinseo. Infact, he is currently the world champion and have won 354 times while having only 140 loses. This makes his win loss ratio nearly 2.5:1. True from the looks of it, this makes Shin Jinseo’s losses way higher in comparison to Bobby Fisher who only ever lost few times at chess. Infact, my calculation for Bobby Fisher is closer to a ratio of 20:1 at chess which is astronomical. However, these games can’t fully be compared as it isn’t apples to oranges. One thing for certain though is that if Shin plays hundreds more games year over year, that ratio is becoming slimmer. He is getting closer to the level of professionalism where he can likely win 20 or so games in a row. Can this guy in the future be nicknamed “the Bobby Fisher” of Go? Perhaps.

The video above is of Park Youngwoon, a 7th Dan amateur Go player going over a Shin Jinseo match. As one can see, lots of technicals and rules go into the playing of the game.
