The 17 Best Moments From Bitcoin 2024 Nashville

Bitcoin 2024 was my 3rd bitcoin conference (including Miami in 2018 and 2021). You can find my thoughts on the event in my post “bitcoin2024 — Sleeping With The Enemy”. As I didn’t stick around for Day 3, this post is simply a compilation of highlights from a popular tweet storm on the event by Luke Martin from the “Stacks Podcast”.

1. RFK — The U.S. govt. should buy 4M BTC over 20 years (550 A Day)
2. Edward Snowden — ”We are winning. But we havn’t won…so we have make sure that we don’t get cocky.”
3. Michael Saylor — predicted a BTC price range of $3M-$$49M in 2045. Which means an IRR of 21%-49% for 20 years!
4. Blackrock — ETF buyers have bought and held. Only one negative day of flows in six months
5. RFK — BTC transactions should be untaxed
6. Michael Saylor — The U.S. Government should own at least half of BTC
7. RFK — Says Trump will call for 1M BTC federal reserve
8. David Smith (Comedian) — Govt is able to commit evil because of money
9. Trump — The U.S. will be the Bitcoin Super power of the world
10. Trump — Joe Biden & Kamala Harris anti-crypto crusade will be over.
11. Trump — ON DAY ONE….I WILL FIRE GARY GENSLER!
12. Trump — President Trump promises to immediately shutdown Operation Chokepoint 2.0.
13. Trump — “There will never be a CBDC while I am president of the United States.”
14. Trump- Trump pledges to support the expansion of stablecoins.
15. Trump — Channeling Michael Saylor … “NEVER SELL YOUR BITCOIN”
16. Trump — If Trump wins the election, Ross Ulbricht will be a free man after 11 years in federal prison.
17. Lummis — proposes legislation that the US government will buy 5% of the total $BTC supply and hold for atleast 20 years.

Of the 17 highlights noted by Luke, 12 were uttered by politicians (8 by Trump, 3 by RFK, and one by Lummis). Of the remaining five highlights, one came from a political prisoner (Edward Snowden), one came from a comedian (David Smith) and three came from Bitcoin’s leading spokesperson (IMHO), Michael Saylor.
