On Monday Em and I spoke to a pirate. In this case there were no skull and crossbones simply a whole load of insight into the How & Why of creating the world’s first ecosystem to support the growth of quantum computing. Below are some thoughts building off the discussion.

Sergio Gago — known online as the ‘PirateCTO’ — is the Managing Partner of a not-for-profit organisation called the Quantum World Association (website here) that is creating a ‘triangle of relationships’ to connect academic researchers with theories of quantum technology, engineers and programmers who can implement quantum hardware and software, and business ‘users’ who have problems that quantum computing can help resolve.

THE QUANTUM WORLD ASSOCIATION IS AN INDEPENDENT NOT-FOR-PROFIT BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONTION WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO EMPOWER AND ACCELERATE THE DEPLOYMENT OF QUANTUM TECHNOLOGIES IN BUSINESSES, BY CONNECTING USERS, SUPPLIERS AND THOUGHT LEADERS, SHARING BUSINESS INSIGHTS, CONTRIBUTING TO EFFECTIVE CERTIFICATIONS AND RELAYING THE CRITICAL SUCCESS
