Dear Community Members,

Welcome to the 73rd QuarkChain Monthly Report (January 2022). We will post monthly reports including development progress, monthly news, and events at the end of each month. In the future, QuarkChain strives to do better. Let’s review what happened in the past month!

1) Development Progress

1.1 Updates

  • Improve the development of cross-chain bridges from QuarkChain to other chains;

2) Recent news

2.1 Proposal of Setting Up QuarkChain Eco Fund: Work Together With Partners And Communities To Build A Robust Ecosystem

As a member of the global blockchain innovation explorers, in order to promote innovation and the development of an on-chain ecosystem, QuarkChain foundation raised the proposal of inviting funds and partners to jointly set up the QuarkChain Eco Fund. This fund will focus on on-chain application investments in the fields of DeFi, NFT, GameFi, cross-chain bridge, metaverse, etc. At the same time, we also widely invite community members who are interested in building a blockchain ecosystem to participate in the construction or provide us with constructive opinions to build the QuarkChain ecosystem.

2.2 Dr. Zhou, founder and CEO of QuarkChain, released a technical article: Cross-L2 Bridge: Hashed Timelock Contract vs Delayed-Proved Timelock Contract

Optimistic rollup (OR) is becoming one of the most promising scaling solutions for Ethereum (L1) that offers much less gas cost, and almost the same security as L1. By submitting the off-chain transactions and their results on L1, the expensive on-chain computation can be offloaded to off-chain OR. A user can resort to the existing standard token bridge created by the ORs, and route the token via, e.g., Arbitrum -> Ethereum -> Optimism. However, the method can be costly and time-consuming.

Therefore, Dr. Zhou proposed a design scheme for a delayed-proved timelock contract (DPTLC), which allows users to realize real-time transactions across L2 transfers while maintaining the original security.

2.3 G. Crypto lists QuarkChain as one of 15 potential projects

Recently G Crypto listed the top 15 projects with a market cap of under $150 million, and QuarkChain is among them.

3) Events

3.1 QuarkChain engineers conducted a series of technical sharing on DApp Learning

Recently, QuarkChain has conducted a series of technical sharing on DAppLearning, covering cross-chain bridge, DeFi, and other fields, which has been recognized and praised by users. We will first release a collection of recent technology-sharing videos (in Chinese) as a New Year’s gift. We will interpret each technology-sharing video in detail and bring you more of this type of content in the future.
