I wake in the pre-dawn light that filters through my windows. As I open my eyes and land lightly back into my consciousness, I give thanks. For All. The. Things. For Life. For Breath. For Peace. For Love.

I sit quietly at my kitchen counter sipping my morning coffee. From my perch, I can see all three of my bird feeders in my backyard. This is The Place to be as a multitude of species dive and whirl — waiting for their turn at a perch. I can also spy the scrambling squirrels and bunnies who have found a bit of romaine I put out for them. I smile to myself as I give thanks. For All. The. Things. For Life. For Breath. For Peace. For Love.

I cast my gaze to the window where my house plants grow completely out of control. I have Pennsylvania Farmer DNA and a strong leaning into The Garden Witch arena. I can grow damn near anything. As I ponder this gift, I give thanks. For All. The. Things. For Life. For Breath. For Peace. For Love.

I roll out my yoga mat and turn on a Tibetian Singing Bowl meditation. As I begin I stand in tadasana (mountain pose) to ground myself. My practice flows through me and out from me. I am wrapped in Divine Love as my body finds her rhythm. I lay back in savasana (corpse pose) for a time. As Grace settles into my being, I give thanks. For All. The. Things. For Life. For Breath. For Peace. For Love.

I walk. Slowly at first, around my neighborhood but then with mindful purpose as I travel farther and farther from my front door. I absorb the colors that surround me. Green grass, white and pink cherry trees, yellow daffodils, blue hyacinths, purple irises, red tulips. I become the rainbow as I give thanks. For All. The. Things. For Life. For Breath. For Peace. For Love.

I stand outside my front door — a cup of tea in hand as the sun slowly sinks beneath the western horizon. Brilliant colors mix and blend and reflect off the homes in my neighborhood. Starlings settle, then fly — then settle again, searching for a proper good night. I absorb the final rays of sunset as I give thanks. For All. The. Things. For Life. For Breath. For Peace. For Love.

I lay my head back on my pillow. I settle into the soft cocoon of my sleigh bed. A homemade, handmade quilt of Love covers me. I find ease in my breath. As I allow sleep to arrive, I give thanks. For All. The. Things. For Life. For Breath. For Peace. For Love.

I wake in the middle of the night. Inspiration gently shaking my shoulder. She whispers to me the story I am to tell. I am merely Her scribe as I jot down Her Words. Once She is satisfied I have properly received what She has gifted, I feel Her Presence quietly retreat. As I drift off back to the land of dreams, I give thanks. For All. The. Things. For Life. For Breath. For Peace. For Love.

And then with the morning light — I do it all over again.

This is Life. My Life. A Grateful Life. A Life full of miracles and synchronicities. A Life open to The Divine. A Life of Peace and Love. An Ordinary Life full of Extraordinary Magik.

As I write these last few words, I give thanks. For All. The. Things. For Life. For Breath. For Peace. For Love.

Namaste.
