until we meet again, Wisconsin
Arrivederci, Lady of the Lake
yet again, Gaia heals
Captured on my phone
to carry within my heart –
Lady of the Lake,
how deeply I will miss Your depths.
The blithe spirits within you,
waxing, waning,
sometimes white-capped.
Including my own.
Rising from rock bottom
to greet the gulls,
sing with the cicadas,
nibble like a rabbit
a piece of the rainbow
this very moment
striding toward us
through the mists
of missing You
tomorrow
bruised heart now
rainbow-wrapped
with a pinwheel bow
of song awash —
hungrily
humbly indebted —
in Your wake.

I’ll be returning to Wisconsin and the Lady in early November. Awakening this morning, however, I missed Her — a sign to edit this poem, which I began departure day last month.
Thank you, Jean Carfantan, for the perfect home for this prayer of gratitude to Mother Gaia.
And thank you, dearest readers — children of the Queen as well.
