Women talk about healing the historic witch wound, and we talk about sexual and bodily empowerment for healing, but there is something equally as detrimental that we must heal to fully embody feminine energy.

For a female going through an awakening process, it is wise for us to remember that historically the paradigm of mental health and psychology has been almost laughably misogynistic.

Some of the most brilliant female souls simply weren’t able to handle the oppression of their essence:

Kate Chopin, a female author ahead of her time, wrote The Awakening, and ended the book with the female protagonist drowning herself.

Frida Kahlo, a brilliant painter ahead of her time, has rumours around her that she ended it purposefully.

Sylvia Plath who wrote the novel the The Bell Jar, ended her own life.

Charlotte Perkins Gilman who wrote The Yellow Wallpaper, which is a stunning short story about the crushing social expectations for women, did as well.

One of the most incredible spirits I’ve ever met, a true oracle, ended her life.

I myself have almost wanted to give up, when I once prayed to God/Goddess to be anything other than a woman on this planet. Anything. I prayed to be a tree, a bird, anything other than a being who…
