Imagining A New Earth: prompt
“If I ran the world…”
A dream of a New Humanity
I have pondered this prompt. At first blush I was rather taken aback — as we all well know — The Devil Is In The Details and Human imagination can be quite limited.
We cannot — even our wildest dreams — dream a world as lovely and well constructed as the one we currently live in. Gaia — Mother Earth — The Divine — by whatever name you call Her — birthed us this treasure.
The Earth is not the issue.
We are.
And as a long time practitioner of meditation and Metta, I realized The Earth was fine just as it is. We are the ones who need the Rebirth.
We need to form a New Humanity.
This morning on my daily walk around my neighborhood it came to me. What I would do “If I ran the world”.
I would let all beings live in freedom, in peace, in happiness, in health. My Metta meditation is my wish for a New Humanity on this same beautiful planet we share.
Because it’s not just Humans who are impacted by our chaos. All beings suffer because we don’t see them, don’t elevate them to a level of importance, don’t understand. The fabric of the Earth is held together with tenuous, glorious bits and pieces of magik, physics…
