Can you recall the careless freedom you experienced as a child, when nothing under the sun bothered you enough to waste time and energy on for longer than a few seconds? Remember when you didn’t get triggered by the insignificant words or actions of others? That was only possible because you did not take anything personally.

As children, we have an innate understanding that what other people say or do has zero to do with us. Nada. Niente. While adults get upset over anything and everything, children naturally and effortlessly do not care, hence they can fight and make up in under a minute and completely forget the cause of the initial conflict. No grudges or resentments, no ego traps that we, as “grown-ups”, tend to fall into regularly.

It’s no surprise that we grow to miss the free spirited kid. That “libre comme l’air” soul, whom we’ve lost touch with as we slowly developed into what today we proudly call ‘adults’ (also known as deeply wounded children who are pressured to pretend they know what they’re doing). Not only are we externally pressured to act like we’ve got it all together, but we also pressure ourselves into appearing the independent, strong, unbothered individual that we think we should be (but aren’t). We suck it all up: addictions, delusions, corrupt forces, and let them penetrate our body, mind and soul, while doing…
