There are many philosophies about swords. In several traditions, the supreme act of surrender to Spirit is to lay down both sword and shield, becoming vulnerable. In others, the sword is a symbol of Truth. In every case, the sword instructs the wielder.

Light reflects from the burnished blade
as it flashes in motion
or stands, motionless
singing its silent song.

Infused with intent,
the blade cuts through illusions of every ilk,
powered by passion
an extension of the heart.

If your sword a weapon be,
you may need its absence
to come to Me.

If your sword is free and clear,
nothing will bar your journey, here.

What is truly ours can never leave us,
a tool, a guide, a promise, our Divine Direction.

What is optimal in any moment?
Only SHE knows for certain,
the Truth behind the blade.

There was a time in my life when swords and martial arts were my whole life, apart from my day job. This I learned, and learned it well. A honed blade is ruthless and exacting when wielded with precision. So is any sacred symbol, taken fully to heart.

Blessed Be.
