Villa Patria Beach House

We just got married (Jan 30, 2016) and we followed it with travel plans with Shiela’s family. Most of her relatives that came to the wedding were either already based in other countries and it was great to spend time with them even after the wedding.

Shiela, her brothers and cousins rented out a beach house in Calatagan, Batangas. It was a couple of hours ride coming from Tagaytay. The beach house was called Villa Patria Beach House and it was big enough to accommodate around 30 people. We had the whole place to ourselves for almost 3 days. They saw the property and booked it via Airbnb and I think one of the selling points was that we could actually have the care takers of the beach house cook and serve food for us.

There were two main buildings. The first was the main house where you have the kitchen, an open lounge area, 3 bedrooms. The second building has two floors. The first floor had the dining area and the second floor was the sleeping area. What I found really unique with the second floor was that all four walls were just made of screens which gave you a 360 degree view of the property. You can also feel the sea breeze up there which makes you want stay up there and relax.

The days were filled with lounging around, playing in the sand, and swimming in the ocean. The night we filled with song (some even danced) and some drinking. We rented a videoke machine and never turned it off.

It’s going to be while since we can get this group back together so we enjoyed every minute of it. It was a long drive back home and we were already missing the fun times we had in Calatagan. We just hope that we can visit Shiela’s cousins and their families in the US and Canada very soon.
