Do The “Hard” Work

But what defines “hard work”?

This was an insight I got from Seth Godin.

We, right away, consider ourselves a “hard worker” when the quantity of our output exceeds the norm.

But there’s more to it — there’s an emotional and mental work behind it as well.

Hard work requires you to be creative. Work hard. Work smart. Innovate — unless you’re in a job where innovation is not welcomed, where your value is measured by your output.

If so, then you are working like a robot. If a robot can do what you do, what do you think is gonna happen to you when they take over your workplace? Robots do not think, they just do, and they do it way more efficiently and cheaper than you.

Hard work requires you to address your weaknesses and fears. If you don’t, then you will likely try everything in your power to avoid confronting them, while, trying to get to where you wanted to be. That’s exhausting, stressful and makes a coward out of you. Realize your deepest fears and learn how to stand up to them.

Hard work is measured by the value you create — not by the number of your efforts.

Work hard. Overdeliver. Be valuable.

Do these to relieve you from the fear of unemployment and the loss of your most valuable relationships.
