Free courses catalog: A Quarantine guide
In 1665 when the bubonic plague hit England forcing people into isolation, a student from Cambridge thrived at home and formulated the most decisive theories and inventions that science and mathematics has ever seen. His name was Sir Issac Newton and those years were termed as the “ wonder years” of his life.
Many online communities are opening up their platforms for free during the pandemic. Since a wealth of information is overwhelming, here is a non exhaustive collection of free online courses and resources on the internet to binge-skill up this quarantine season.
The collection largely focuses on Computer science related topics coupled with a few business and music related subjects. Most of them have been audited by me at least on the basic level and are legit.
Computer Science
Learn SQL — Codeacademy: recommended for complete beginners. Audit the course for free.
Advanced SQL — Mode: followup material after learning the basics.
Cloud — A cloudguru consists of a rich course library with resources covering AWS,Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud products. Free trial for 7 days.
Python Programming — offered by Corey Schafer on Youtube. Undisputedly the best collection of python tutorials available anywhere for free!
Python WebApp — offered by Corey Schafer on Youtube. At the end of this playlist you will have a full stack website up and running. Feel free to boast!
Data Science The crème de la crème of the recent past needs no introduction. Here are a few resources that might interest your curios neurons!
Kaggle Learn — Kaggle: An always free platform which offers compact content for machine learning. Provided that Kaggle comes with an online notebook feature it is the best platform for practical machine learning. Truly binge-worthy. If you don’t know where to start, Start Here!
Machine Learning — Coursera: If Kaggle is too compact and you are eager to know the math behind machine learning take this exhaustive deep dive into machine learning offered by Andrew Ng who is a pioneer in the field.
365 Data Science Learn all the essentials required to break into data science path including Probability, statistics, machine learning. As a result of COVID-19 pandemic all the courses are made free until 15th of April 2020; but there are some “always free” content available as well.
