FIRST 15 SEC MATTERS

The user is very straight forward and in a hurry while checking out any new App. So try to avoid unnecessarily engaging features by giving clear call-to-action. A user must understand what purpose this product serves within 15 seconds.

SPEED MEANS GOOD DESIGN

It is no surprise that faster mobile sites have better user engagement. It is critical to set a performance budget and hold your team accountable. Its a shame, when your beautifully designed site results in a bounced user because you forget to compress the 2MB hero image.

REMOVE AUTOMATIC POP-UPS

Automatic carousels are next to useless for users and are often “skipped” because they look like an advertisement. Users read and consume media at different rates. Put your users in control. If you have to use carousel make it work on a user swipe or tap.

USE SOCIAL PROOF

People don’t trust businesses. People trust People. It is no surprise that users are influenced by others. Add social proof to gain more credibility and promote adoption. Social proof could be user testimonials, data points, or press/awards your company has received.

OPTIMIZE FORMS

Make the procedure as smooth as possible. Users tend to have very little patience when asked with completing forms and finalizing the checkouts process. Users express checkout solutions like autofill, web payments and one tap sign-in to collate everything a user needs at checkout while keeping information safe and secure.

BE ACCESSIBLE

When we say a site is accessible, we mean that the content is available to all, and can be operated absolutely by anybody.

It should be

  • Perceivable: Can the user perceive the content?
  • Operable: Can users navigate the content?
  • Understandable: can the user understand the content?
  • Robust: Does it work with assistive technology?

BE CONSISTENT

Ensure fonts, media and images have a consistent look and feel and contribute to the overall brand strategy.
