When NASA first sent a man to the moon, all they had to work with was a computer with a memory in MB's. Today, even the dumbest Smartphones come with a memory thousand-times greater than the first computer sent to space. However, it is not the memory or the processors that make your phone capable (sure, they make it powerful, but power without capability amounts to nothing) but the ability to track your location and use it to facilitate a personalised user experience.

Today, we have a come a long way since the first Apollo Mission. The World Wide Web has made away for several advances in the realm of web and mobile app development. A simple voice search in a device no bigger than our wallets helps us with a tonnage of information, and that too in less than a fraction of a second, and yet, we have only managed to scratch the surface of Artificial Intelligence.

The benefits of Artificial Intelligence are now being inculcated in the web and mobile app development process to complement business aspirations, user expectations and experience, and to enhance the operational process as a whole. Alongside, Artificial Intelligence in Marketing has taken several giant leaps in the last few years, assisting the growth of enterprises operating virtually.
Turns out, Artificial Intelligence is changing the world we live in, but how?

Artificial Intelligence for Businesses:

Gone are the days when a single corporate entity led a specific business domain or service industry. Given the enhancement in digitisation, technology, feasibility, and accessibility of resources, more entities are now venturing into domains they previously had no place in. In 2005, who could have imagined that a startup in Silicon Valley will change the face of public transportation across the world? However, Uber came along and the rest is history. From an industry that had confined itself to creating software programs and hardware devices, the IT industry branched out, and this is when Artificial Intelligence for Businesses first gained prominence.
The mightiest power in the world does not lie in one’s nuclear arsenal, but one’s capacity to process raw data into meaningful knowledge, and this is where most corporate entities are focusing their energies. Employing Artificial Intelligence via Big Data, Data Analytics, and now, Data Security, businesses are striving hard to derive insights from the data at their disposal, for this, is integral to improving the operational and user intricacies.
Apparently, it is no longer an option for businesses to shy away from Artificial Intelligence, and therefore, many are jumping on the wagon in their respective capacities to get ahead.

Artificial Intelligence in Marketing:

Chat-bots, beacons, location-based apps, and many other mechanisms have sprung in recent months. Eateries like Taco Bell and Domino’s have already inculcated Chat-bots in their web and mobile apps to help user avail orders. Meal delivery services like Zomato are using Chat-bots (though they are not completely dependent on Artificial Intelligence, yet) to address customer grievances. By 2020, one can expect almost all the leading virtual entities to inculcate Chat-bots with voice recognition in their apps. Thus, the next time you wish to order a cab, all you need to say is ‘Order Cab’, and your Smartphone will do the rest.
Again, data is of paramount importance when it comes to Artificial Intelligence in marketing. Unlike the web properties, AI in Smartphones makes good use of a person’s location, thus helping them with some relevant options. For instance, if you are in a supermarket, beacon integrated apps will notify you each time you are in the vicinity of a product you added to your Smartphone shopping list. The idea of having Artificial Intelligence in marketing is to help clients with what they exactly need and might need and to do away with the idea of spamming.
A Personalised User Experience, marketing and targeting, beacons, and Chat-bots are a mere tip of the iceberg when it comes to Artificial Intelligence. Even with Siri coming a long way from being a mere voice assistant, one can expect wonderful advances in this domain from numerous companies. However, like any other technological advance, Artificial Intelligence is a double-edged sword, for it is already overshadowing conventional IT jobs, and soon, could overshadow the thinking capacity of a human.

The era of Artificial Intelligence is upon us and is already becoming an integral part of our lives, given the way we use our virtual services, and therefore, as a business, you must look to invest in it instead of running away.
