How common are one-night stands?
According to a survey of 1,000 people by sex toy company Adam & Eve, 58.1% said they’ve engaged in some no-strings attached sex. (Or at least that’s how many were willing to admit it.) Not surprisingly, 79% of these admissions were from men and 21% were from women.
And why did they have casual sex? Adam & Eve’s resident sex expert Dr. Kat Van Kirk explains it this way:
“There are many reasons people choose to have a one-night stand,” she said. “From exploring one’s sexuality to a random hook-up outside a relationship…as long as both partners have the same expectations, a one night-stand can be a positive release of sexual energy.”
