These 2 courses composed of modules are designed for IT Professionals who will learn how to support the installation tasks associated with Windows 10.

These courses help prepare for the exams « MD-100: Windows 10 » and « MD-101: Managing Modern Desktop » to obtain the title « Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate ».

1. Windows 10 (Course MD-100)

1.1. Installing Windows 10 (Module 1 — MD-100T01)

Overview :

In this course, students will learn how to support the installation tasks associated with Windows 10. Students will develop skills that include learning how to install and customize Windows 10 operating systems. Students will also learn about the new Windows servicing model and methods for keeping Windows up to date. The course will conclude with common post-installation tasks.

This course was designed for individuals working in an IT Support role.

This is the first in a series of four courses for Windows 10. These courses help learners prepare for the Windows 10 exam (MD-100).

Targuet Audience :

Candidates for this exam are IT professionals who perform installation, configuration, general local management and maintenance of Windows 10 core services. Candidates may also be familiar with enterprise scenarios and cloud-integrated services.

Objectives :

After completing this course, students will be able to:

• Prepare to install Windows 10.
• Install Windows 10.
• Configure Updates for Windows.
• Perform post-installation configuration tasks.

Prerequisites :

Before attending this course, students must have:

• Basic understanding of computer networks and hardware concepts.
• Basic understanding of OS and Application concepts.
• Experience with using the Windows OS.

1.2. Configuring Windows 10 (Module 2 — MD-100T02)

Overview :

In this course, students will learn how to support the configuration tasks associated with Windows 10. Students will develop skills that include managing storage, files, drivers, and printers as well as how to configure network connectivity for Windows 10. This course will also cover managing and deploying applications.

This course was designed for individuals working in an IT Support role.

This is the second in a series of four courses for Windows 10. These courses help learners prepare for the Windows 10 exam (MD-100).

Targuet Audience :

Candidates for this exam are IT professionals who perform installation, configuration, general local management and maintenance of Windows 10 core services. Candidates may also be familiar with enterprise scenarios and cloud-integrated services.

Objectives :

After completing this course, students will be able to:

• Configure devices and drivers for Windows.
• Configure storage for Windows.
• Configure network settings in Windows.
• Configure remote management of Windows.
• Configure and manage applications in Windows.
• Configure Internet Explorer.

1.3. Protecting Windows 10 (Module 3 — MD-100T03)

Overview :

In this course, students will learn how to secure the Windows 10 OS and protect the data on the device. Students will be introduced to common methods used for authentication and access control. This course will teach how to configure file and folder permissions and creating security policies. Students will also be introduced to the different types of external threats and how to leverage features like encryption and firewalls, as well as tools like Windows Defender.

This course was designed for individuals working in an IT Support role.

This is the third in a series of four courses for Windows 10. These courses help learners prepare for the Windows 10 exam (MD-100).

Targuet Audience :

Candidates for this exam are IT professionals who perform installation, configuration, general local management and maintenance of Windows 10 core services. Candidates may also be familiar with enterprise scenarios and cloud-integrated services.

• Configure account access and authentication.
• Configure file and folder permissions.

1.4. Maintaining Windows 10 (Module 4 — MD-100T04)

Overview :

In this course, students will learn how to manage and troubleshoot Windows 10. This course will deep-dive into the architecture and tools used for managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting the OS, Apps, and hardware. Students will learn about proactive and troubleshooting methodology, and how to identify and mitigate common issues.

This course was designed for individuals working in an IT Support role.

This is the fourth in a series of four courses for Windows 10. These courses help learners prepare for the Windows 10 exam (MD-100).

Targuet Audience :

Candidates for this exam are IT professionals who perform installation, configuration, general local management and maintenance of Windows 10 core services. Candidates may also be familiar with enterprise scenarios and cloud-integrated services.

• Use Windows troubleshooting and monitoring tools.
• Troubleshoot Windows installations.
• Troubleshoot application installation issues.
• Troubleshoot web browser settings.

2. Managing Modern Desktop (Course MD-101)

2.1. Deploying the Modern Desktop (Module 1 — MD-101T01)

Overview :

As desktops has evolved, so have methods for deploying and updating them. In this course, students will learn how to plan and implement an operating system deployment strategy. This course will help you understand the various methods available, the scenarios they’re suited for, as well as how to deploy Windows using modern methods. This course will also cover planning and implementing an update strategy for Windows.

This course was designed for IT Professionals who manage and deploy desktop operating systems their organization.

This is the first in a series of three courses for the Modern Desktop Administrator. These courses help learners prepare for the Modern Desktop Administrator exam (MD-101).

Targuet Audience :

• The Modern Desktop Administrator deploys, configures, secures, manages, and monitors devices and client applications in an enterprise environment. Responsibilities include managing identity, access, policies, updates, and apps. The MDA collaborates with the M365 Enterprise Administrator to design and implement a device strategy that meets the business needs of a modern organization.
• The Modern Desktop Administrator must be familiar with M365 workloads and must have strong skills and experience of deploying, configuring, and maintaining Windows 10 and non-Windows devices. The MDA role focuses on cloud services rather than on-premises management technologies.

Objectives :

After completing this course, students will be able to:

• Develop an Operating System deployment and upgrade strategy.
• Understand the different methods of deployment.
• Understand which scenarios on-premise and cloud-based solutions can be used for.
• Deploy and migrate desktops to Windows 10.
• Plan and configure Windows Update policies.

2.2. Managing Modern Desktops and Devices (Module 2 — MD-101T02)

Overview :

As demand for organizations to enable workforces to be more mobile, a desktop administrator’s role is really is no longer about just “desktop” management. With BYOD becoming commonplace and the need for employees to access line of business apps on personal devices, the scope of desktop administration must include both desktop and mobile devices, regardless of ownership. During this course, you’ll be introduced to key components of modern management and co-management strategies. You’ll examine what it takes to incorporate Microsoft Intune into your organization and how to use it to manage modern desktops and devices. You’ll also learn about methods for deployment and management of apps and browser-based applications.

2.3. Protecting Modern Desktops and Devices (Module 3 — MD-101T03)

Overview :

Every day, more organizations are asking IT to support mobility in the workforce. Modern environments require the Desktop Administrator be able to manage and support phones, tablets, and computers, whether it be owned by the organization or personally owned by the employee. At the same time, IT must still be able to protect the data that these devices access. In this course, the student will be introduced to the key concepts of security in modern management. This course covers authentication, identities, and access, as well as about how to protect these categories. The student will be introduced to Azure Active Directory and learn how to use Microsoft Intune to protect devices and data with compliance policies. Finally, this course will cover key capabilities of Azure Information Protection and Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection and how to implement these capabilities.
