How does that happen?

All we need to crack a smile and click the Publish button is for writers to follow the five crucial steps listed below.

№. 1 ~ Read and abide by the pub’s guidelines

All pubs should have a page dedicated to the types of stories they accept along with the formatting, tags, and other items required for publishing a story. These guidelines are often found on a tab titled ‘Write For Us’ at the top of the pub’s main page. They may also be posted as a story on the pub’s home page.

Read these guidelines thoroughly. Then read them again.

Nothing saddens an editor more than having to click the Don’t Accept button because a story doesn’t fit within the guidelines. For example, Full Frame only accepts stories that comply with their Art of Photography theme. A series of vacation photos without any connection to that theme will be declined.
