Falling in Love in France
An American-French love connection
Kit Desjacques and her husband were on vacation in Greece.
After ordering fish for lunch at a seaside restaurant, Kit’s husband, Jean-Claude, asked her, “Did I ever tell you about my family’s first trip to Greece?”
His family drove from their home in France through the former Yugoslavia to Greece. After a three-day drive, the family of five unloaded and went to a seaside restaurant where a shirtless waiter took their order — fresh Grouper.
Moments later, the waiter reemerged from the kitchen. He sprinted toward the water with a mask and harpoon in hand and jumped into the ocean. Five minutes later, he resurfaced with a family-sized Grouper to put on the grill.
This is what I enjoy about Kit’s stories. They are filled with little moments — that make you smile and you remember them long after reading her stories.
Scot: I enjoyed your story (especially Jean-Claude’s fish story) about your trip to Greece. What were some other highlights of your trip?
