One of the most regular requests we get at Quidli from users and prospective users alike is for new tokens. Comments are usually along the lines of: “I want to use Token X”; “my teammate prefers Token Y”; or “Ethereum gas fees are too expensive” 🤣

This latest addition of tokens is even more exciting because we enjoyed taking the opportunity to expand into several new blockchain environments — Polkadot (DOT), BNB Chain (BNB & BUSD), Avalanche (AVAX), and Solana (SOL). And now Quidli users can use these assets to share as micro-incentives with their colleagues and community contributors directly in their browsers, Slacks and Discords.

DOT

Polkadot is a blockchain built to enable other blockchains to transact data and value in a trustless manner. For example, transactions can pass between the Ethereum and Bitcoin blockchains without significant processing strain to either network. This flexible nature allows all systems to act as parachains and contribute their unique features while pooling network security.

DOT is Polkadot’s native token and is primarily used for staking and governance purposes.

BNB & BUSD

BNB Chain is the latest iteration of Binance’s efforts to build blockchains that can power interoperable open digital finance environments parralel to their centralized offering. Operating separately, BNB Chain is composed of the BNB Beacon Chain, for staking and on-chain governance, and BNB Smart Chain, an EVM compatible consensus layer with hubs to other blockchains.

BNB is the native transaction token for BNB Chain, and, true Binance’s BUIDL spirit, it officially stands for “Build and Build.”

We’ve also added BUSD (Binance USD), the Binance backed USD pegged stablecoin as the first non-Ethereum based stablecoin option on Quidli.

AVAX

Avalanche is a Layer One smart contract blockchain specifically designed to facilitate high transaction throughput rates. Using a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus protocol, the Avalance blockchain aims to set itself apart from the Ethereum network by emphasizing its speed, low transaction costs, and being enviornmentally friendly in ways that are favorable for DeFi.

The AVAX token is the native asset used to pay transaction fees on the Avalanche blockchain and can be staked to secure the Avalanche network.

SOL

Solana is another Layer One smart contract blockchain that places a significant focus on its high throughput rates. In contrast to Ethereum, the Solana blockchain uses Proof of History (PoH) in addition to PoS to establish consensus. It’s largely been positioned as a general purpose blockchain with projects across DeFi, NFTs, gaming, and more.

The SOL token is the Solana blockchain’s native asset for paying transaction fees, staking, and serving as the Solana community’s governance token.

SHIB

Shiba Inu is a token that initially launched as an Ethereum-based competitor to Dogecoin. What started as a memecoin, however, transformed into its own decentralized ecosystem and is arguably now the most popular memecoin in the market today in large part due to its notable 150,000x increase in price during an eight-month period.

SHIB is has been one of the most requested tokens by our users and so we’re excited to finally offer it as a micro-incentive option.

Getting your token on Quidli

At Quidli, our main objective is to build more bridges between Web 2.0 and web3. And so our near-term roadmap is to continue rolling out more token layer integrations into the Web 2.0 apps we all know and use today. If you’re a token org or DAO interested in getting your token integrated into the Quidli ecosystem, you can get in touch by filling out our request form.
