Sitting at my desk, I stared at the blank page of Google Docs on my computer screen.

The cursor blinked steadily, almost mockingly, as if asking…

“Well, what are you waiting for?”

I let out a frustrated sigh.

Once again, I found myself faced with the panic of all writers — the blank page.

This huge, white space that can mean both endless possibilities and crippling worry and self-doubt.

I knew I wanted to write, but I just didn’t know where to start or what to say.

As I racked my brains, the voice of self-criticism started creeping in.

“Who are you to call yourself a writer when you can’t even put words on the page?”

it seemed to jeer……😢😢😢

I took a deep breath, trying to silence my inner critic.

This was not the first time I had grappled with writer’s block, that stubborn and persistent creative barrier.

But I was determined not to let it defeat me this time.

An idea crossed my mind — why not just start writing and see where it takes me?

Without overthinking, I started typing the first thing that popped into my head.

Suddenly my mind clicked that what if I am getting this same problem that I have nothing to write what if everyone facing the same problem?

So I started writing on this topic…😂😂😂😂😂 I know it is a little funny.

My fingers danced across the keyboard as I explored fragments of memories, observed passing moments, and pondered various “what-ifs”.

While the writing was rough and unpolished, I was thrilled by the emergence of my voice, however hesitant.

I had broken through the barriers and finally put words on paper.

In that moment, I realized sometimes you simply have to start writing without waiting for divine inspiration.

By letting go of perfectionism and expectations, I had unleashed my creativity that was there all along, just bottled up by self-doubt.

The key was to keep writing — about anything and everything — to grease the wheels of creative expression.

Over time, with regular practice, I strengthened my writing muscle or skill.

I fine-tuned my unique writer’s voice. (maybe)

Most importantly, I learned an invaluable lesson:

Writers don’t just write when inspiration strikes —

They write to find that inspiration within themselves.

If you believe you have nothing worthwhile to write, start by writing just that.

Soon, you’ll discover you have a lot more inside of you waiting to spill out.

All you need is the courage to take that first step.
