What if the Opposite is True?
Welcome to the first edition of my newsletter, “Quo Vadis, Healthcare Leadership?” I’m excited to share my experiences, insights, and learnings from the past few years as I pivoted from a cardiologist to a leadership coach and Red Team Thinking instructor. This journey has been transformative, and I hope what I share will resonate with you as you navigate your own path in healthcare leadership.
This edition is titled “What if the Opposite is True?” — a question inspired by my nearly two-year journey in Red Team Thinking. It’s a powerful tool that challenges conventional wisdom and prompts us to consider alternatives. It asks, “What if — what we think is true — limits us? What if embracing the opposite could lead to breakthrough solutions?”
Winston Churchill once said, “Now, this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”
This resonates deeply with where we find ourselves today in healthcare. We’ve made progress, but there’s still much work ahead. We’re at a point where significant change is needed — not just in the systems we operate within, but in how we think about leadership, management and ourselves.
