Liquid Launch: Video message by Quoine CTO Andre Pemmelaar
Video Summary
The Liquid launch date is September 4. This is when maintenance begins. Here, Quoine Chief Trading Officer gives an update for Quoine global (excluding Japan) customers about what to expect.
Overview
- We will have a phased rollout process where we continue to update and add to Liquid.
- Qryptos and Quoinex will go into maintenance mode at 10:00am GMT+8 (2:00am UTC | 11:00am JST) on Tuesday September 4 for up to 24 hours before the launch of Liquid.
- Once maintenance is over, Liquid.com will be live.
- Please ensure you have read the Liquid launch FAQ so you understand the process. We will be going over most of it now.
- Qryptos and Quoinex are merging, to be rebranded as Liquid — with lots of extra features.
- Important notice for Qryptos users: Qryptos will be shut down and remain unavailable permanently from September 4 when the Liquid launch rollout begins. If you need your transaction records, please download them now.
- Quoinex will become Liquid and maintain your old data.
What’s happening to your accounts
- All withdrawal requests must be made before 10:00am GMT+8 (2:00am UTC | 11:00am JST) on Monday September 3.
- Any final deposits to your Qryptos or Quoinex accounts must be made before 10:00am GMT+8 (2:00am UTC | 11:00am JST) on Monday September 3.
- Deposits made to Quoinex after this point will be credited to your Liquid account.
- Important: Deposits made to Qryptos after this point are at risk of not being credited to your Liquid balance.
- If you are a Qryptos or Quoinex user your accounts will be maintained, and you will be able to use your normal login information. If you have two accounts, these will merge and maintain the same login information. If you have two unique accounts, they will become unique accounts on Liquid. If you want them to be merged, please get in contact with support.
- All funds will be safely moved over to Liquid. Check your wallet addresses after Liquid goes live.
- Any products on Qryptos or Quoinex will be on Liquid for global (excluding Japan) users. There will also be new features becoming available, not not necessarily from day one. For example, we will be adding new fiat pairs using the World Book, but it might not be from day one.
- During maintenance, you will not be able to trade. All open limit orders on Qryptos will be closed before we go into maintenance. On Quoinex, limit orders older than two months will be closed. All open positions will remain open but inaccessible during maintenance and could be closed out once Liquid launches and trading resumes due to moves in the market. You should close your positions before maintenance if you do not want to risk getting liquidated. Quoine is not responsible for any losses incurred if a position gets closed out immediately after the maintenance period.
- API traders will go through the same process as others: the exchanges will be offline for up to 24 hours and you should not deposit 24 hours before the switch. Balances will be safely migrated along with the other users.
- If you are trading through the API on Quoinex you should be able to still do exactly what you were doing before using api.quoine.com. We will introduce a new API in the near future.
- If you are a Qryptos API trader, you will also continue to use api.qryptos.com/ when Liquid goes live, but you should make sure that you are properly trading the correct market. We anticipate issues may occur where there are markets on both Quoinex and Qryptos that are merging.
- When Liquid goes live, please carefully check the API is doing what you expect it to do.
The World Book and QASH
- We are rolling out the first chapter of the internal world book. Multi market orders will be enabled for BTC, ETH, and BCH against fiat. We expect you will see greatly enhanced liquidity, particularly in BTC. If you are a global trader and you have found the spreads undesirable, I think you will be very impressed.
- QASH Utility — you will be able to pay your fees with QASH. You will be able to automate the purchase of QASH to pay for your fees if you do not have enough. This will be bought from the market. This may not be available for JP users from day one.
- QASH will be changing to Liquid Token soon.
- The lending app has been reworked. You will be able to lend out your crypto.
- We have put a lot of effort into the Liquid design. There is a lot in there that we are excited to show you.
What won’t be in Liquid?
- Liquid mobile app won’t be there for first launch- it’s coming, but not there for launch
- External World Book — it’s coming, but not there for launch
- Other MMOs pairs. We are getting the World Book out there internally, testing and scaling with a real time environment. As we becoming more confident with this we will begin adding more MMO functionality. Things will start connecting with each other.
