We must be having an unhealthy idea of our future that we are creating something that is more intelligent than us -and we want to control it.

This ride will be very different, and very very difficult.

If everything is left to tech billionaire, super intelligence will change the very face of humanity and everyday ordinary carbon based human being will be gone.

Huge funds are propelling this development of advanced AI, and tech billionaires are pushing more ghosts in their black boxes, and getting rich off us and want to feed us the crumbs.

Re-skilling / Education Won’t Help Much

Technology is moving faster than ever, faster than our need to innovate, faster than we can adapt.

Even if you are a technical expert -learnability, “learning how to learn”, life-long learning will become your survival skills In most jobs,

Re-skilling and re-deployment won’t help much. You just can’t expect a truck driver to go to MOOC portal / coursera.org, learn Machine Learning and help his employer executing some automation project.

Why Will AI Win Against Human?

In his book Darwin Among the Machines, George Dyson says:

“In the game of life and evolution, there are three players at the table: human beings, nature, and machines. I am firmly on the side of nature. But nature, I suspect, is on the side of the machines.”

Artificial Intelligence could be the final invention and post that AI will be self-correcting, self-improving, self-replication. Perils of Artificial Intelligence are real.

What’s Coming Next:

We will have unknown consequences and we will be blaming algorithms/black boxes the way like we have been blaming nature, God and other stuff because of our ignorance around life’s mysteries and myths

Can’t say much of existential threat to humanity, but these lobbies of tech giants and governments will let AI supersede humans and we may lose our place as the dominant species on this planet

The Only Thing That Is Sure

None of this will be easy and nobody has a plan
