💌 Becoming Allah’s Beloved
❤️ Indeed Allah loves those who are repeatedly repentant and loves those who purify themselves. (2:222)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful Allah.
Praise be to Allah, the Forgiver, the Loving.
وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ
And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate. (85:14)
وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي رَحِيمٌ وَدُودٌ
And ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is Merciful and Affectionate. (11:86–90)
Dear readers, each of us wish for Allah to love us and be pleased with us.
رَّضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِيَ رَبَّهُ
Allah being pleased with them and they with Him. That is for whoever has feared his Lord. (98:8)
He loves them and they love him. (5:54)
The love of Almighty Allah is for certain blessed individuals.
So for this let the competitors compete.(83:26)
❤️ The love of Allah is for those who follow the Messenger of Allah ﷺ (Surah 3:31). It is for the good doers (2:195), those who repeatedly repent (2:222), who purify themselves (2:222), the patient ones (3:146), the God fearing (3:76), those who rely upon him (3:159), those who act justly (5:42), and those who fight in His way as if they are a solidified structure (61:4).
🌸 Dear reader, the love of Allah is for the person who keeps coming closer to Him, through the obligatory and then the extra (nafl) until He loves him. (Bukhari, 6502) So fulfill the obligatory, and move on to the extra.
🌸 Dear reader, The strong believer is more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, even though there is good in each (Muslim 2664). So be empowered and strong, and benefit people through your strength.
🌸 Dear reader, Allah loves the slave who is pious, rich and hidden (Muslim, 2965). So have caution of Allah, be free of need, and do not show off.
🌸 Dear reader, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. (Muslim, 91a) So beautify your external and inner self, wear good clothes, but know that the clothing of taqwa is better.
🌸 Dear reader, the most beloved of actions to Allah the Exalted are the most continuous of them, even if little. (Muslim 783b) So take on deeds that you can be consistent in, and maintain them, and guard them, for the love of the beloved Lord.
🌸 Dear reader, Allah is gentle and loves gentleness in all matters. (Bukhari, 6297) So be gentle in speech, mild in words, and kind in your approach.
🌸 Dear reader, the most beloved of deeds to Allah is prayer at its time, then goodness to parents, then jihad (struggle) in His path. (Muslim, 85c), so hasten to the remembrance of Allah, and be good to your parents, and be ready for struggle.
O Allah, be pleased with us and make us beloved to you.
🤲🏻 Abu Ad-Darda’ narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “It used to be from the supplication of Dawud that he would say:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ حُبَّكَ وَحُبَّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ وَالْعَمَلَ الَّذِي يُبَلِّغُنِي حُبَّكَ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ حُبَّكَ أَحَبَّ إِلَىَّ مِنْ نَفْسِي وَأَهْلِي وَمِنَ الْمَاءِ الْبَارِدِ
O Allah, indeed, I ask You for Your love and the love of those who love You, and for the action that will cause me to attain Your love, O Allah, make Your love more beloved to me than myself, my family and cold water. (Tirmizi, 3490, Hasan — Darussalam)
