Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah.

Everyone upon the earth will pass away,

And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.

He brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and gives life to the earth after its death. And like that you will you be brought out.

To Him belongs the kingship of the skies and earth. He gives life and causes death, and He is powerful over all things.

May peace and blessings be upon the honored Prophet. I advise myself and you to fear Allah. Allah says:

O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared [be careful of Allah as He should be careful of] and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].

Dear students, and colleagues,

Imagine a car following you. No matter where you go, it keeps on following you. This is an example of death.

Have you ever visited the graveyard? Have you been to a cemetery? Have you ever seen a person who passed away? Have you ever been to a burial in the cemetery?

One day that dead person will be us. We will die. Take a moment to understand that.

We can die anywhere like our house or our bed or anywhere Allah can take our souls. If you miss a prayer you become at loss.

Death is for sure.

And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death).

No person has immortality (living forever).

Every soul will taste death. And you will only be given [i.e. receive] your full reward on resurrection [judgement] day. Whoever is removed from the fire and entered into paradise has won. And the worldly life is only an enjoyment of deception.

Death is enough as a reminder. May Allah bless me and you with the noble Quran. And benefit us from its verses and the wise reminder. Seek Allah’s forgiveness. He is truly Extremely Forgiving and always Merciful.

Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah.

[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is better in deed.

Blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, the honored Prophet and Messenger.

Those who believing in him honored him, and supported him, and followed the light sent down with him, they are the successful.

Our Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wasallam, said:

“Remember frequently the destroyer of pleasures.”
(Meaning death). (Ibn Majah 4258, hasan — Darussalam)

Remembering death has tremendous benefit. Understanding Death gives purpose in life: To worship our Lord. It makes us worship Allah in a better wat. Give up sins. Repent for them.

The most intelligent person is the one who remembers death the most, and is best prepared for what comes after death.

How frequently should we remember death? Ibn Umar would say:

In the evening do not expect to see the morning and in the morning do not expect to see the evening. (Bukhari)

Live as if it is our last day.

You will die. And I will die. And on judgement day we will be standing before our Lord.

__

Our Lord, give us a good death, a good ending.

Our Lord, give us good in this life and good in the afterlife and protect us from the fire.

Our Lord accept this from us, indeed You are the Hearing and Knowing. And turn to us in mercy and forgiveness. You are the acceptor of repentance, the Most Merciful.

And our final call is: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
