Prophetic Wisdom — Good After Evil
Follow a bad deed with a good deed it will erase it.
Prophetic Wisdom
Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah who is perfect in every way.
To Him belongs what is before us, and what is behind us, and what is between that. And never is your Lord forgetful.
Those near Him declare His perfection night and day, and they do not stop.
They exalt [Him] night and day [and] do not slacken.
Dear reader, Allah sent Muhammad صَلّى الله عليه وسلّم to teach people wisdom. Things that are so wise. Things that are full of wisdom.
And remember what is recited in your houses of the verses of Allah and wisdom. Indeed, Allah is ever Subtle and Aware.
The Prophet صَلّى الله عليه وسلّم said:
Fear Allah wherever you are, follow a bad deed with a good deed to erase it, and treat people with a good attitude. (Tirmdhi, 1987, Hasan)
Fear Allah wherever you are
The first advice in the hadith is to fear Allah wherever we are.
In the house, at school, online, alone, in the mosque, in the shopping centre, in the street…
Always fear Allah, meaning avoid all the things Allah told us not to do. And do all the things Allah told us to do.
If you fear Allah, Allah will be with you.
And fear Allah and know that Allah is with those who fear [Him].
Fearing Allah is the quality of the best of people, the Prophets and the righteous.
And not fearing Him is the quality of the sinful and wicked.
Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.
May Allah bless me and you with the noble Quran. And benefit us from its wisdom and the wise reminder. Seek Allah’s forgiveness. Truly He is the One who accepts repentance, the always Merciful.

Praise of Allah
Alhamdulillah who is perfect in every way.
And mention the name of your Lord morning and evening
And during the night prostrate to Him and declare His perfection a long [part of the] night.
I remind myself, and everyone — man and jinn, to have taqwa of Allah and fear Allah. Allah says:
But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens -
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
After a bad deed do a good deed to erase it
Then the Prophet advised us in the hadith to follow a bad deed with a good deed, it will erase it.
After doing a bad deed, do a good deed, it will wipe it away.
And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.
If someone slips on the road, he should get up and start walking again. Not roll himself in the puddle further and get himself more dirty.
The prayer is one of the best way to get rid of evil deeds.
“There is no man who commits a sin, then stands up and purifies himself, then performs Salat, then seeks forgiveness from Allah, except that Allah forgives him.” (Tirmidhi 3006, Hasan — Darussalam)
Behave Well with people
The final advice in the hadith is to behave with people with good character.
This is sweetness in good behaviour. That attracts the hearts. And brings joy. And weighs heavily in the scale.
By his good character, indeed the believer will attain the degree of one who fasts and stands [in prayer during the night] . [Abdu Dawood, 43:26, sahih — Al Albani]
Nothing is heavier on the believer’s Scale on the Day of Resurrection than good character. [Tirmidhi, 27:108, Sahih]
Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr reported: Allah commanded our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to keep forgiving the bad character of people.
[Bukhārī 4644]
Prayers
Finally, we pray:
O Allah bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, indeed You are the praiseworthy, the glorious. O Allah give barakah to Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, You are the Praiseworthy, the Glorious.
Our Lord we have wronged ourselves, if you do not forgive us and have mercy upon us we will be among the wrongdoers.
Our Lord give us good in this world, and good in the hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the fire.
And our final call is praise be to Allah, the Lord of the world.
