Satan and the Killer in the Bus

“Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy.” (Qur’an, 35:6)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful Allah

🚌 Imagine a fat and repulsive person sitting next to you in the bus who was attempting to knife you 🔪. You knew this was his motif but you knew he wasn’t going to do it in public. The person told you ‘Please come to this empty street, I want to show you something expensive 💰’. Would you accept?

What if he gave you a chocolate 🍫 if you agreed. Will you accept the offer?

Of course you won’t. But the devil . He is worse than this person in the story. The devil wants *you*to end up in the hellfire🔥, but he can’t force you to end up there.

He can give you suggestions 💬, and a lot of time we realize the suggestions are actually from him. Why do we still follow him? How are you following him now, even as you read this? Stop 🛑 and think.

The shaytan is like a thief who will try to steal your time ⌚.

إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لِلْإِنسَانِ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ

Indeed Satan, to man, is a clear enemy. (Surah Yusuf, 12:5)

إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ فَاتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّا

“Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy.” (35:6)

أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوا الشَّيْطَانَ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ * وَأَنِ اعْبُدُونِي ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ

Did I not take a promise from you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan — indeed, he is to you a clear enemy — And that you worship Me? This is a straight path. (Surah Yaseen, 36:60–61)
