What is Sunday Syndrome?
And how to cope with it successfully
Sunday Syndrome, also known as Sunday Scaries, Sunday Blues, Sunday Evening Feeling, is the sad, fearful, negative anticipatory feeling that working people and students usually get when their weekend of rest and relaxation is over and they must now head back to stressful work/studies on Monday.
After a hectic work/study schedule the feeling of happiness begins rising even as Wednesday starts. People feel lighter, happier, merrier and more positive. Friday morning it continues to rise and peaks at Friday evening to Saturday night.
This is usually the time when people feel happy, free, relaxed and enjoy their favourite activities.
At most work places Fridays nearly look like party days because of this general euphoria. Many establishments and offices follow casual dress policy on Friday encouraging employees to be casually dressed. Usually no school, office, working or study establishment will consciously schedule serious work, meetings, launchings or projects on Fridays to avoid over-burdening people or spoiling their approaching…
