Have you ever predicted that there will be such a big pandemic that you have never seen before happen? This is why everyone was shocked when the virus — COVID-19 quickly turned into a pandemic that was very hard to stop.

Some countries reacted quickly enough to stop the virus from spreading and used all kinds of ways to remind citizens that COVID-19 is not a virus you could underestimate and you should always be careful of your hygiene…

Introduction of COVID-19

Something most people know about coronavirus is that it affects your lungs, but there are a lot more kinds of symptoms now, already found:

As you can see, it is very scary to get the coronavirus(COVID-19), you will never want to lose your sense of taste and smell, right?

There is another really scary thing about the coronavirus, is that it spreads REALLY QUICK if you don’t protect yourself.

There is now already MORE THAN 13.4 MILLION CASES OF CORONAVIRUS AND OVER 580 THOUSAND OF PEOPLE DIED WORLDWIDE ALREADY!

But not everyone knows about viruses and may have lots of questions, so let's start from the beginning.

Q1: Why do viruses want to go into our bodies?

A: It is because viruses are parasites. When a virus goes into its host, it is alive and it holds onto a cell and attaches its protein on the outside through the membrane of the cell and hijacks the cell to replicate more of its own genes, and then you will start to have symptoms and you’re affected. Then the virus travels onto the next host.

Q2: What is a virus made of?

A: A virus is made with an RNA or DNA surrounded by proteins.

Q3: Is an RNA virus or DNA virus more likely to infect you?

A: An RNA virus, because when an RNA virus replicates, it is more likely to have mistakes while replicating, that is called a mutation. So, when you got immune to the RNA virus, the mutation replicates of the RNA virus may just slip by your immune system like wearing a disguise. In the end, you still get infected. But DNA viruses are really easy to detect by the immune system and killed by them.

It is really unfortunate to encounter this coronavirus pandemic, but it also taught us a few lessons.

I think that we should wash our hands frequently no matter when. We should also do the best thing we can do to protect ourselves and always prepare for the next pandemic so that we can know what to do next time.

But have you ever seen the news that said a lot of animals came out and lived happily on the streets and news about air pollution improve? Although the coronavirus is a threat to humans, it made the earth have a moment to rest.

This pandemic also made me want to watch a movie called “CONTAGION”. In the movie, there was also a pandemic that killed a lot of people, just like this time.

There is also a whole TED-ED video introducing the coronavirus which I think is really good and teaches you lots of things, link below:

And now we must pray that the pandemic goes away not causing any more damage.
