Celebrating Three Months of R Planet!

On the 25th October 2022, R Planet successfully minted 8,888 tokens at a mint price of 0.08eth and quickly become the #1 trending project in Web3.

Since then, with 1,500+ ETH of total volume across all markets, the project has continued to work towards its stated mission to ‘build the world we want to live in’. A world that is more sustainable, more equitable and in which the interactivity of Web3 tokens and community can ‘create actual impact’.

With the current floor price around 0.035eth, it’s understandable that some may feel that the project hasn’t lived up to its potential. However, as we all know the current NFT market is dominated by people looking for short term gains — and this overlooks the excellent work being done to build out the project in real terms and work towards its stated goals.

This week on R Planet Together we are going to look at what the project has delivered in real terms. Floor prices change with the wind, but considering the tangible outputs of a project is where we can truly see which teams mean business and are here for the long haul.

When we look at the first three months since the token mint, there is a huge amount of output to celebrate and give kudos to the team for delivering in a smooth and efficient manner.

In chronological order, we have seen the following:

Sold Out Mint in just 1hr and immediately secured the treasury into USDC, followed by a smooth reveal three days later — that saw a rare post-reveal price pump as the market was so taken by the art style.

Soulbound Token + Giveaway for the first 1,000 wallets that minted, to reward those who were in the project early and supporting it.

Launch of the first partnership (UNICEF x Judith Lieber) that saw money raised to provide clean water to thousands of people, with a giveaway of a luxury bag for one holder worth approx. $5,000.

Easter Egg Giveaways that drew attention to different parts of the art and rewarded lucky holders with a series of drops.

New Hires to cover social media, graphic design and software engineering.

Partnership with Floor App to provide early beta access to their app, in advance of their public launch.

Learn Good Sh*t programme of events that brought together many different influencers, projects and other communities to talk about Web3 in a variety of different ways. Included a number of giveaways.

R Planet x Your Wellness series of events to help holders focus on their wellbeing and approach to their time spent in Web3. Included a number of giveaways.

Geeta x Forbes article that looked at the professional career of one of the project founders and CEO of R Planet, Geeta Sankappanavar, and why she is now moving into asset tokenisation and Web3.

R Spotlight programme to showcase community members (including this blog!) that are passionate about the project and doing good things.

R Planet Marketplace launched that provides a fee-less aggregated market to trade R Planet tokens and provides infrastructure for future use and resilience of the project over the long term.

Art Basel IRL Meetup that brought together the team and holders at one of the biggest Web3 events of the year. Lots going on behind the scenes at Art Basel, as you would expect.

Community Grant Programme announced with an initial funding pot of $50,000 that will be used to support holders with projects that are aligned with the mission and purpose of R Planet.

New Hire of a well-known Web3 storyteller, R. Daniel Lester, who will be using the power of AI to help build out the lore and IP of the project.

’Tis the SZN series of giveaways to celebrate the December holidays, including NFTs, consumer products, merch and cash prizes.

R Gallery launched to help holders bring their Wanderers to life and get the most out of their IP-ownership rights, with 3k x 3k ultra high-resolution downloads available with verified ownership.

Community Spaces launched by myself and Hawaii Marine Life, bringing holders together twice a week to discuss all kinds of different issues from news about the project, to activism and sustainability, IP-rights, AI, Web3 culture and more.

Partnerships with ATCC, InPeak, Alpha Sharks and more… that brought utility to holders in the form of market tips, access to web3 professional networks and trading tools.

$pecie Checker launched to verify our accumulated reward tokens for holding NFTs, which had been accumulating since mint per wallet.

Release of the Q1 2023 Mindmap which we will look at in more detail below, but outlines some of the big ticket items we can expect in the first few months of 2023.

R Planet Live weekly show launched to discuss things happening with the project and bring out different aspects of it through regular comms from the team, held in a video chat format that can be used for clips online and streamed direct to Twitter.

R Planet Animation announced that will be created by some of the team that created animation for Otherside, including a competition to insert the wanderer of one lucky holder into the official animation/s to be released.

…and all of that, let’s remember, within the FIRST THREE months of the post-mint phase of the project. Not many projects can point to as much output, utility and tangible deliverables in the opening months — which is more than enough reason to celebrate the R Planet team and all they have achieved so far!

Q1 2023 Mindmap

Everybody loves a good roadmap… sorry, mindmap as the kids are calling it! Recently, the R Planet team laid out what we can expect from Q1 of 2023 and there is a lot of interesting stuff in the pipeline.

Considering what it means in deliverables, it seems that within the next two months (or so) we can expect the following:

• Branding and Merch initiatives that build out the profile of R Planet;
• R Grant applications opened for submissions;
• Learning portal with materials added regularly;
• New brand/web3 partnership;
• $pecie functionality, boosts and ways to spend;
• IRL experiences;
• First IRL impact initiative announced and potentially tokenised.

Taking all of this together, thinking about what was delivered in the first three months and looking at what is planned soon, we can see that R Planet is a serious project — that intends not only to be part of Web3 for a long time, but fundamentally change the idea of what is possible in the space.

It’s an exciting time to be part of R Planet. We really are early and get to watch the world of asset tokenisation arrive on Web3 with front row seats, including close engagement with the rolling out of AI capabilities and all focused on making the world a better place.
