Racecheck has today announced the 51 races that have been rated as the highest performing races across the UK by participating athletes. More than double the number of events have qualified for a 2019 Racecheck Athlete-Rated Award over the year before, again demonstrating the growing trend of reviews being recognised as a key driver in consumer decision making.

The awards are unique in the industry, based 100% on actual race participant experiences with the criteria being a minimum of 30 reviews and a rating of 4.6 or above. Peer reviews and recommendations are a key driver in encouraging sign ups and event winners of the Racecheck Athlete-Rated Awards in 2018 have reported unprecedented growth on the back of the accolade.

All award-winning events will receive award badges for use in their own 2020 marketing activity, priority listing on Racecheck, inclusion in the wider awards marketing campaign and free review widgets for their websites* profiling reviews and recommendations as athletes make the decision on signing up.

· 2019 sees the first cycling and Swimrun events qualifying as a top-rated event categories

· Event with most reviews is the British Airways Run Gatwick with a stunning 657 reviews

· Swim event organiser Henley Swim gets an award for every event they host (four celebrated open water swimming events)

Racecheck Co-Founder, Alex Tanti comments: “It’s great to see such an uplift in events qualifying. We hope these awards inspire athletes when looking for the next challenge. Thank you to all athletes who shared their race experience by posting a race review and to all organisers who believe in Racecheck and want to make their events the best they can possibly be.”

Alex Tanti continues: “Data from the Trustpilot Study shows that 61% of consumers read online reviews before purchasing and on the flip side 92% have difficulty purchasing with no review. Reviews have an ability to increase both consumer knowledge and brand trust and our platform helps organisers share these independent reviews to drive event credibility and growth.”
