About the project

This website was created for a class project for Journalism 800 at Michigan State University.

We created our publication to examine the resources Michigan State University provides for students of Color. We wanted to look at the programs, initiatives and places students of Color can go for help.

To take our project a step further, we also look at what MSU does for students who feel they are suffering from racial battle fatigue.

In doing so, we hope to shed light on how MSU has work to do to combat this problem.

About us:

Taylor O’Neil Hall is a grad student at Michigan State University in the Journalism M.A. program. He completed his undergrad degree in journalism at the University of Southern Indiana and then worked as a reporter before coming to MSU. After graduation, he wants to continue his work as a journalist.

Morgan Goodwin is a graduate student at Michigan State University studying Student Affairs Administration with her focus being on systems of oppression and social justice. She completed her Bachelors of Science degree at Bowling Green State University where she served as a student leader fighting against racial injustice on campus. Upon graduating in May she plans to work on a college campus supporting students of Color and advocating for underrepresented students.

Kendall Michelle Wright is a grad student at Michigan State University studying Student Affairs Administration with her focus being on bringing equity and justice for all students. After graduating from MSU Kendall plans to pursue diversity and inclusion work.
