The updated Machine Learning for Earth Observation Market Map is finally here!
The ML4EO market map is a curated list of organizations focused on different machine learning aspects with a satellite data pipeline. This release includes an additional list of 50 organizations, which we missed in the first version published in September 2020.
We have a positive reception on the market map we introduced last year. For instance, Joe Morrison from Azavea thought it “could easily become the “definitive” list of “Who’s Who” in the ML for EO sphere. Andrew Cutts of The Scene from Above podcast included it in his summarization of the “State of Earth Observation” at Geomap on November 27, 2020. But what stood out to most is just how fast the geospatial machine learning ecosystem is growing.
The map is divided into two groups — Commercial and Non-Commercial — and five categories:
- Data Analysis and Services — Organizations that build machine learning models and analytical solutions for various geospatial applications using EO.
- Analytics Platforms — Organizations that provide a software or platform to process EO data and build customized applications.
- Labeling Platforms — Organizations that provide a solution for generating labels on satellite imagery and creating training data catalogs.
- Competition Platforms — Organizations that help you run challenges on your training dataset to outsource modeling solutions.
- Data Access and Storage — Organizations that provide access to satellite imagery and geospatial training data to facilitate machine learning analytics pipelines.
