We built RadiCards for you, the hodlers & buidlers out there. We made it easy for you to onboard anyone to the Ethereum ecosystem and get the tech to the people who need it.
It’s simple. You send ETH via link to your friends. They open the site and there it is — our magic internet money, just waiting for them to be played with! And it is just one download away.
This concept of incentivizing people to join a network is really nothing new. It allowed for Paypal’s exponential growth:
Though in our times, giving the right impulses might just not be enough, to get users to adopt new tech — Especially if we deal with adopting a more complex technology, like Ethereum. People don’t just kyc at an exchange, get ENS addresses and hardware wallets.
People need a sense of trust. A feeling of habit. And this is exactly what Wechat used to kickstart their payment service — Using the thousand-year-old tradition of gifting red packets to friends and family on Chinese New Year.
Users loved it. On Chinese New Year 2014, they grew their user base from 30 million to 100 million in a month. And on last year’s New Year’s Eve 688 million people sent WeChat hongbao. If you love compounding numbers, you gotta love these.
So we want to make Ethereum part of the Chinese gifting culture, and make the act of gifting part of Ethereum culture. Sounds exciting?
