Joining Radicle: Mathew Margolis, Lead Analyst

Today marks exactly 60 days from the day I joined Radicle. Already I have been on three projects in completely unrelated industries, from Pet Insurance, to At Home Cocktail Smart Devices, and most recently Anti Money Laundering. All of the projects have been extremely engaging and require me to look at the spaces in a new light to generate insights I have never considered before. I have also interviewed several startup founders and employees in our search for partnership opportunities for our clients. It’s always refreshing to see the passion, mission and the drive they have for the future. Every day is different and each project I get to work on with new team members so I get to collaborate with really smart and ambitious people daily to solve our clients’ needs.
As a remote first company, we have team members located in 5 different countries, so keeping in touch is very important. We share pictures, songs of the day, do “AMAs”, and so much more. With no geographical boundaries, we are free to work from anywhere in the world and my colleagues get to do very cool trips like birthdays in Egypt or cancel their lease and travel state to state in Airbnb’s. Weekly team meetings are also a key part of the culture here. Discussion topics include Fahrenheit vs Celsius, the metaverse, crypto & DeFi, skiing in the Alps vs the Rockies, airplane window seats vs. the aisle, Why Amazon failed in China, and more. Choose your side and defend it is the name of the game. Everyone is curious, inquisitive and ready to share their perspective.
Before joining my new family, I was a founder of a water demand augmentation startup. We managed to grow the company significantly and worked with many large institutions including universities, banks, hotels and schools. Prior to that, I worked for Deloitte in their Calgary office. I was in the Finance and Performance Management team where we helped corporate clients with strategy, process improvement, and other initiatives. I have several years of experience in the finance industry, hold a masters degree and a CPA designation. I consider myself privileged to find a home here at Radicle!
