The Sea Dogs open up their 24th season in the City of Portland, hosting the Reading Fightin Phils on Thursday, April 6th at Hadlock Field. With just 8 days until first pitch, here’s 8 potential players we could see in Portland.

Four New Sea Dogs

1. Rafael Devers 3B, #2 Prospect in the Red Sox system according to Baseball America.
2. Trey Ball LHP, #15 Prospect in the Red Sox system according to Baseball America.
3. Nick Longhi 1B, Born in Springfield, Mass, but grew up in Florida. Ranks #14 Prospect in the Red Sox system according to Baseball America.

1. Mike Meyers OF, Spent the entire 2016 season with Salem…Played on Team Israel in this year’s World Baseball Classic.

Four Returning Sea Dogs

1. Ryan Court INF, Named the 2016 Sea Dogs 10th Player Award Winner. Court was a guest at this year’s Hot Stove Dinner.
2. Teddy Stankiewicz RHP, Threw the team’s first 1-hit, 9-inning shutout last season. Should anchor the 5-man rotation.
3. Tzu-Wei Lin SS, Potential to return for his second full-season in Portland. Lin has potential to be a top prospect in the Red Sox system. A reminder, not all prospects are built the same.
4. Williams Jerez LHP, Was taken off the 40-man roster this past off-season and was not claimed, but kept on the Red Sox Minor League Roster. Jerez has been throwing up to 96 during Minor-League Spring Training.
