Day 2 in Ft. Myers — Spring Training update (Evening Report)

I spent today at the Twins Complex, watching Portland and Pawtucket play exhibition games. For those new to minor league spring training, most of the players are playing a level up. That has to do with the Red Sox have over 40 guys in camp. When I arrived at one of the backfields, I was able to see former Sea Dog Mike McCarthy, who is working with the Twins as a bullpen coach for Triple-A Rochester. Below I have some photos of some familiar names.
Schedule for Tuesday: Pawtucket and Portland are playing at jetBlue Park against Baltimore’s Double-A and Triple-A teams. The A-ball teams travel to Sarasota.

Sea Dogs Notes

  • 25 Days until the 25th Season opens at Hadlock Field. Tickets available.
  • Great article on ’17 alum Bobby Poyner, who has a chance to make the Red Sox bullpen.
  • Opening Day for Portland is April 5th at Binghamton. There’s a chance Tim Tebow could be playing for the Rumble Ponies.
