Day 5 in Ft. Myers (taking in Sox and Pirates)

Today I’m taking in the Red Sox/Pirates game at jetBlue Park at Fenway South. Below is the lineup for the Red Sox — many former Sea Dogs in the lineup.

Due to incoming weather in Ft. Myers, all the minor league games were cancelled. Instead, intra-squad games took place.

Rick Porcello worked 6 innings, 98 pitches, 9 Ks, 1 BB, 2H, 1R in minor league game.

With the exception of Blake Swihart and Steven Wright, the Sox lineup is looking like a possible Opening-Day lineup. Xander Bogaerts returns from the WBC.

Another sellout crowd at jetBlue Park, but I noticed a ton of Pirates fans at the game. Those yellow jerseys really stand out.

From the Red Sox game notes: Former Sea Dog Sam Travis has hit .400 and slugged .700 in 39 career Grapefruit League games (2015–17).

Boston has 17 players on their 40-man roster acquired by trade: Abad, Elias, Hembree, Hernandez, Holt, Kelly, Kimbrel, Leon, Pomeranz, Porcello, Rodriguez, Rosss Jr. Sale, Smith, Thornburg, Wright and Ysla.

Wrap-up from Red Sox win over the Pirates today.
