Day One, Afternoon from FLA

Sights from the minor league complex

The rainout rules are much different during minor-league spring training. There was a threat of rain in southwest Florida for Monday morning, canceling all minor league games. Instead, the minor leaguers played intrasquad games at JetBlue Park. Both games went nine innings and had umpires. The Triple-A and Double-A played on one field, the A-ball clubs battled across the way.

Boston suffered a 4–1 loss to Minnesota and are scheduled to be home Tuesday against Toronto. There is a 100% chance of rain overnight and into tomorrow morning. So, Tuesday will be interesting.
