Instant Replay and the Sea Dogs?

Thanks to Sea Dogs Assistant General Manager/Media Relations Director Chris Cameron for finding out this unique tie-in between Major League Baseball’s first 2 instant replay and the Portland Sea Dogs.

• The first regular-season instant replay challenge in Major League Baseball history was upheld this past Monday in the Cubs-Pirates game. Former Sea Dogs Manager Rick Renteria challenged the call.
• Braves manager and former Sea Dogs skipper Fredi Gonzalez was the first to win a challenge, getting a safe call on Ryan Braun reversed.

Renteria managed Portland in 2000–01, going a combined 148–135…Gonzalez led the ‘Dogs to a 79–63 mark in 1997.
