HOME FOR THREE: The Sea Dogs return to Hadlock Field after a 3–4 roadtrip, opening up a three-game series against the Binghamton Mets…Portland is 0–7–2 in their last nine series…The ‘Dogs last series win came on May 20–23 at Hadlock Field, taking three of four from the New Hampshire Fisher Cats…The B-Mets own the best record in the Eastern League and have won 20 of 26 since a 3–2, 10-inning win against the Sea Dogs on May 25th at NYSEG Stadium.
BREAKING ON THROUGH: After scoring 22 runs in the first 6 games of the trip, the ‘Dogs clobbered the Trenton Thunder 11–0 on Sunday afternoon at Arm & Hammer Park…Tony Thomas led the 17-hit attack, going 4-for-5 with 3 RBI…Peter Hissey and Heiker Meneses each had three hits…Meneses blasted his third homer, but his first since an inside-the-park homer on April 16th at Binghamton…Matt Barnes (4–4) tossed five scoreless on three hits, five walks and eight strikeouts to earn the win…The Sea Dogs scored nine runs in the final three innings off Jeremy Bleich (3 runs), Aaron Dott (5 runs) and Fred Lewis (one run).

THAT TIED A SEASON-HIGH: Portland tied a season-high for the largest margin of victory, as they beat the New Britain Rock Cats on April 19th at Hadlock Field (Barnes also earned the win)…The ‘Dogs 11 runs and 17 hits were the most since May 16th at New Hampshire, scoring 15 runs on 18 hits.
MORE ON TONY: Thomas made his second straight start at second base, picking up his team-leading, third 4-hit came of the season…During a 4-game hitting streak, Thomas has raised his average 19 points…His 3 RBI on Sunday was his highest output since May 8th vs. Reading (4-for-4, 3 RBI).
WAS HIS BEST: RHP Miguel Celestino worked three scoreless frames on Sunday, allowing one hit and tying a season-high with four strikeouts…The outing was the best for Celestino in his 21 Double-A appearances…Lefty Rafael Pere preserved the team’s seven shutout with a scoreless ninth.
