We are 8 days away from Opening Night at Hadlock Field. The Sea Dogs will battle the Reading Fightin Phils. Let’s preview possible first baseman in Portland this season…Chester should be the starter. I’m taking a shot in Tejeda playing some first base, as he did a lot in Spring Training…If Matt Spring is back, he could also play some first base.

Highlights: Began 2014 with High-A Salem, hitting .220 (18-for-82) with 3 homers and 15 RBI in 22 games…Was on the disabled list from April 29-June 9 and made his Double-A debut with Portland on June 10th at Altoona, going 3-for-4 with an RBI double…His first Double-A homer was a grand slam on June 18th at Erie…Hit .231 (49-for-212) with 7 HR and 31 RBI with the Sea Dogs in 61 games and had 15 of 31 RBI with the bases loaded…Season-high 7-game hitting streak from June 15–23: 9-for-23 (.391), HR, 9 RBI and 2 doubles…Homered twice in the Eastern Division Championship Series against the Binghamton Mets.
