DECIDED EARLY: The Altoona Curve scored seven runs in the second inning and cruised by the Sea Dogs 13–6 on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field…Alex Dickerson drove in a career-high seven runs, blasting two homers…Jarek Cunningham homered twice and finished 4-for-5 with 3 RBI…Andrew Lambo hit his league-leading 13th homer to start the Curve’s offense…Matt Barnes took the loss, allowing seven runs on six hits over 1.2 IP…Matt Spring finished 3-for-4 with his sixth homer of the season…Casey Sadler (6–3) worked 5.2 innings on seven hits and four runs to earn the win.

SPRING MUST BE HIS SEASON: Spring hit .354 (17-for-48) with 5 homers and 18 RBI in May, and picked up his sixth multi-hit game of the season on Sunday…The Portland backstop has a multi-RBI game in eight of nine contests that he has an RBI.

X MARKS THE SPOT: Xander Bogaerts collected his 15th multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 on Sunday with a run scored…Bogaerts has a 7-game hitting streak: 12-for-23 (.522), 3 HR, 9 RBI, 3 doublesHe’s hit safely in 12 of his last 15 games: 21-for-57 (.368), 3 HR, 14 RBI…His .302 average (58-for-192) is now tops on the team.

SIMPLY DOMINANT: Ranaudo worked a career-high 7 innings in his previous start on May 29th vs. New Hampshire, earning his sixth win of the season…The righty was perfect in six of seven innings, allowing just a leadoff single to Ryan Schimpf in the second inning…Ranaudo is leading the Eastern League in ERA, WHIP, Batting Average against, Fewest Baserunners Per 9 IP and tied for the league lead in wins.

HADN’T HAPPENED IN A WHILE: The seven runs allowed in the second inning on Sunday was the most since New Hampshire scored seven in the first July 20, 2012…Five homers by the Curve were the most by an opponent since August 9, 2008 at Connecticut.

WHAT’S ON DECK: The Sea Dogs and Erie SeaWolves conclude their two game series on Wednesday night at Jerry Uht Park beginning at 7:05 PM…On Friday night, the ‘Dogs begin a three-game series in Akron, Ohio against the Aeros…Portland is 1–2 during a 15-game stretch against the Western Division.
