What a Night in Binghamton

Sea Dogs’ Hart, McGrath, and Lau combine on a no-hitter

The fourth no-hitter in team history but the first 9-inning no-no as a Red Sox affiliate

April 25, 2019, will forever go down as a great moment in Sea Dogs history. Portland kicked off a seven-game trip with their fourth no-hitter in team history but the first nine-inning no-hitter as a Red Sox affiliate.

Kyle Hart was terrific over 6.2 innings pitched, allowing just three baserunners; two hit batters (both Andres Gimenez) and a walk to Will Toffey. Daniel McGrath entered the game in the seventh inning and retired all four batters faced. Adam Lau worked around a one-out walk in the ninth, getting MIke Paez to fly out to right to end the game.

Some irony in the no-hitter. The game was the first managed by former Sea Dogs Manager Kevin Boles against Portland. Boles was named Binghamton’s Manager in the off-season.

Celebrating after the win!
