The Primal Force Of Music Will Never Leave Us — Ever! We Can Take Comfort From That!
In this crazy, upside-down world we live in — where nothing is certain, and everything changes every day, there is one constant that we can all rely on — and that’s MUSIC.
While we run for cover from the whims and temper tantrums of various BILLIONAIRE WORLD INFLUENCERS, we can take comfort in the fact that NOTHING they can do— nothing they invent or monetise or use to track and trace us through our time on this planet — will EVER remove our power to find, make and enjoy music.
MUSIC has been ours since the dawn of time. While we ingest more algorithm-generated hate-hustles from the world’s biggest money-makers — MUSK & ZUCK (“MUCK” for short!), we need to focus on what they CAN’T take away from us — MUSIC, however much they might want to try.
So, in the spirit of ETERNITY-THINKING, let’s give a big SHOUT OUT to our cavemen and women ancestors who started all this off! They used drums, rattles, flutes and shells to make music, according to online sources, and DRUMS too, which are one of the oldest and most widespread of musical instruments, made from hollowed-out logs and animal skins.
Our cavemen and women ancestors also made flutes, from hollowed-out reeds or bones; they made rattles from a variety of materials, such as seeds, shells, or pebbles, shaken to create a rhythmic sound that we can still all dance to today if we want to to grab a shell and shake it vigorously. Our friends from the past did all this, and so can we — forever, until our time comes.
So let’s SHOUT OUT our love of MUSIC and keep it close and safe from the MEGALOMANIAC BILLIONAIRES who roam this earth, like dying DINOSAURS, trampling over all of us. We need to divert our attention from their brain-bashing data-feeders — masquerading as SOCIAL MEDIA, and turn to the MUSIC— which is ours, FOREVER.
The brain is our ally; the most powerful computer ever — and if we’re lucky enough to have one, and while we’re still alive, we can join with MUSIC and become at one with the primal force that is MUSIC.
Few of us have the time or the means to visit a ton of brain scientists to get to the bottom of why MUSIC is so important, and what happens in our brain when we hear MUSIC, so we’ve found this great little doco which explains it all; boy do we love this video from WIRED — all rights copyrighted to them & kudos to them for making this documentary. Enjoy it, and then come back to us here.
Take-aways from this awesome video — above — are the effects MUSIC has on children who learn an instrument; learning MUSIC in these cases can reshape the brain in very positive ways to help with learning on a massive scale.
And if we didn’t learn an instrument as a child, we know that loving and feeding off MUSIC as a youngster does have a similar effect, changing the structure of our brain to make us more empathetic, more emotionally linked in, more understanding of others.
Here are a few of the tiny — but hugely important — things that happen when we listen to our favorite sounds: MUSIC makes us get up and move. It’s a powerful motivator, driving us to dance, sing, or simply move our bodies. This is because music activates the reward centers in our brains, releasing dopamine, a neurotransmitter that is associated with pleasure.
MUSIC can also be used to express anger or aggression. In venues where this is all OK, this is a huge stress relief. Think of HEAVY METAL concerts with its loud, aggressive sounds that help us humans let off steam.
MUSIC can also be used to evoke fear or anxiety. This is often seen in horror movies, which use music to create a sense of suspense and dread.
MUSIC can also be used to express pleasure or lust. This is often seen in love songs, which use soft, romantic melodies to create a sense of intimacy and desire.
MUSIC can also be used to express playfulness or joy. This is often seen in children’s music, which uses simple, catchy melodies to create a sense of fun and excitement.
MUSIC can flood our brains with powerful memories of happier times, and give us a huge stress relief injection.
And listening to new and unfamiliar music can also trigger powerful brain patterns that oil up the grey matter and make us happier, wealthier in terms of experiences, and more resilient.
